Laura Raastad MS, OTR/L, CLT is the owner and founder of DRM Occupational Therapy Consulting which provides occupational therapy and lymphedema services , management and consulting services to businesses and clients throughout the Omaha area. Laura has been an Occupational Therapist for over a decade working in various settings including hospitals, clinics, home health, skilled nursing and long term care facilities. She has also been a certified lymphedema therapist since 2009 through the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy.
Our goal in Occupational Therapy Treatment is to enable each individual to develop, maintain and build skills necessary to fully participate in meaningful daily life activities. We help our clients and their families adapt to their environment, modify tasks, and use equipment to improve participation in every aspect of their daily lives. Within the scope of our Lymphedema Services, we provide: Manual lymphatic drainage to mobilize and remove fluid from the affected area, multi-layer bandaging to reduce swelling and help soften the skin, flexibility, strength training and aerobic exercises to improve lymph drainage and patient education.
We will come to your home and evaluate your condition, discuss your goals, address your concerns, and develop a customized treatment plan. We will help you regain your independence and mobility. We can teach you techniques and modify ways for dealing with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, dining, and toileting. We can provide assistance to individuals working through issues with balance, strength, fine motor skills, and cognition.
